2000 graduate of Tomball College with Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology Worked as a surgery technician at Gulf Coast Veterinary Hospital from 1998-2004. Joined Texas A&M in January 2004 and is currently with the small animal orthopedics department working in small animal rehabilitation. Duties include clinical instruction of veterinary students on the benefits and techniques of rehabilitation. Developing a lecture series for 3rd year veterinary student elective on complementary medicine to begin in 2007. Currently completing certification to become a certified canine rehabilitation therapist from the Animal Rehabilitation Institute in Florida. Has previously served as both the Vice President and President-Elect of TARVT. Published in Veterinary Technician magazine in October and November 2003. Hobbies include showing donkeys, mules and other equine related activities, singing and learning guitar. |

Mandy graduated from Tomball College in 2001 with an AAS in Veterinary Technology and received a BS in Agriculture Economics from Texas A&M in 2009. She became a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner through the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management in 2011.
Mandy recently moved to the Austin area and is now the Clinical Care Coordinator for Comanche Trail Veterinary Center in Liberty Hill. Prior to this move she had been employed by Critter Fixer Pet Hospital, a busy four doctor suburban small animal practice in Spring, TX for over 10 years. This technician driven practice allowed her to develop and utilize her skills and knowledge to the fullest. While receiving her degree at Texas A&M, she was also employed at Texas A&M Small Animal Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital where she gained experience and further developed her skills and knowledge in internal medicine and anesthesia, while her primary responsibility was to assist the Small Animal Assistant Hospital Administrator. |

Karen studied biomedical science at Texas A&M. She received her AAS in veterinary technology from Cedar Valley College in 1993. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1989 in a variety of venues including private practice, emergency medicine and corporate hospitals. Karen has a special interest in anesthesiology. One of her greatest passions is helping other develop their technical skills. Currently, she teaches a CVA course at the University of Texas at Arlington and works as a field trainer for Banfield, the Pet Hospital. Her desire to see the profession more forward led her to join the TARVT board. In her spare time, Karen works with local rescue groups to help place homeless animals as well as wildlife groups with orphaned animals. Also, she enjoys drawings and painting. Currently, Karen and her husband, Eric, reside in the North Dallas area with their Bernese Mountain Dog and two very spoiled feline sons. Her daughter is an honor student at Texas Tech University. |

Sandra Nunn |
Sandra Nunn is the TAMU Large Animal Medicine Technical Supervisor. She is also the Immediate Past President of the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians and the TARVT Associate Rep. Sandra has been working in the veterinary industry since 1988 and decided to focus on equine in 1995. She worked in a few private practices before being hired by the TAMU Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in 1998. Although, she enjoys all aspects of Equine Veterinary Medicine, her favorite is lameness. She has spoken at many Veterinary Technician Seminars and has been part of four published studies. She lives outside of Bryan with her handsom husband Bryant Nunn and their two boys, Wyatt and Virgil. |

Marisa graduated from Cedar Valley College with AAS in veterinary technology May 1998 and from St. Petersburg College with BAS in veterinary technology in December 2008.. She obtained her VTS in Emergency and Critical Care in 2006 and her VTS in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2008.
Marisa is currently employeed by VCA Animal Diagnostic Clinic in Dallas, Tx and lives in Frisco, Tx with her husband, 2 kids (9yrs and 3yrs), 2 goldens, and 2 cats.

Cindy received her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley College in 1993. Cindy has worked in the veterinary technical field since 1990, with duties ranging from client education to emergency and critical care. For ten years she worked in the small animal field at clinics in and around the DFW area. Eight of those years were spent at Beltline East Animal Hospital where she was lucky to work with veterinarians who expected her to make full use of her education and skills. In 2000, she moved to East Texas to marry and started a family before returning to work, but this time as a technician at an equine hospital where along with nursing duties she also served as the office and inventory manager. Cindy is a Certified Pet First Aid Instructor and offers courses to help owners know how to prepare for disasters and emergencies. Cindy is married to Tony Dittmar and has 2 young sons, Jacob and Pierce. She also shares her home with 4 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Her hobbies include horseback riding, reading, live-action roleplaying games and Cub Scouts. She has previously served as the Secretary, President-Elect and President of TARVT. |
